At AI-Brief, we take your privacy seriously. This policy describes how we handle your data when you use our executive brief generation service. We are committed to transparency and protecting your business information.
Data Handling & Processing
When you upload CSV or XLSX files to AI-Brief, we process your data to generate executive briefs. Here's how we handle your information:
Temporary Storage: Uploaded files are stored temporarily in secure Azure Blob Storage only during brief generation
Processing: We extract statistical metrics and insights from your data using deterministic analysis and AI language models
No Raw Data Storage: We do not permanently store your raw CSV/XLSX data. Only the generated brief and associated metadata are retained
Brief Storage: Generated briefs (summary, insights, and recommendations) are stored securely in Azure SQL Database and associated with your account
No Logging: We do not log raw dataset rows to application logs or files. Only aggregated metrics and error information are logged for debugging
Upload Deletion Policy
Automatic File Deletion: All uploaded CSV and XLSX files are automatically deleted from our storage immediately after brief generation completes. This typically occurs within 60 seconds of upload.
Specifically:
Raw upload files are deleted from Azure Blob Storage after processing
Only the generated brief (text summary and insights) is retained
No copies of your raw data are made or stored in backups beyond the processing window
File metadata (filename, upload timestamp) is retained for your reference in brief history
What We Store
We only retain the following information:
User Information: Email address, authentication tokens, and subscription details
Generated Briefs: Executive summaries, key findings, insights, and recommendations
Usage Data: Number of briefs generated, timestamps, and service usage for billing
Payment Information: Managed securely by Stripe (we do not store credit card details)
Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security practices:
All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
Database connections are secured with encrypted credentials
Access to user data is restricted to authenticated users only
Production error messages do not expose sensitive information or stack traces
Azure infrastructure provides enterprise-grade security and compliance
Data Retention & Deletion
Uploaded Files: Deleted immediately after processing (within 60 seconds)
Generated Briefs: Retained indefinitely while your account is active. You can delete individual briefs from your dashboard at any time.
Account Deletion: If you delete your account, all associated briefs and personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
Access all generated briefs associated with your account
Download your briefs as PDF files
Delete individual briefs from your history
Request account deletion and removal of all associated data
Export your data in machine-readable format (available on request)
Third-Party Services
We use the following trusted third-party services:
Azure (Microsoft): Cloud infrastructure, database, and file storage
Anthropic/OpenAI: AI language models for brief generation (we send summarized metrics, not raw data)
Stripe: Payment processing (PCI-DSS compliant)
These services are bound by their own privacy policies and security standards.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes via email. Continued use of AI-Brief after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
